Introducing the Amaya Messenger Bag

I'm excited to be releasing the Amaya Messenger Bag! This bag was the brain child of my dear friend Amy's daughter, as she wasn't able to find the exact style of bag she wanted for school. Amy is also an amazing bag maker and Embroidery Designer wiz, and also happens to be one of the most amazing people. If you embroidery or just like super cool stuff, you can check out her stuff here.  I was excited to design a bag just for her daughter, Amaya. Thus, the Amaya messenger was born!
This is a messenger style laptop bag, that was designed for maximum functionality and organization. The two flap design allows you to keep a laptop up to 16" stored securely in the hidden pocket, and also keeps it separate from your folders, books and files. So often laptop bags are designed just to hold laptops, and leave very little room for any other items you need to tote with you.
The bottom flap also doubles as a large zippered pocket, the entire size of the flap. This is perfect for those of us who have a perhaps, large pen or pencil collection (hey, I'm a sucker for fun pen colors!).
Under the bottom flap, are yet more pockets! 4 slip pockets that are perfect for keys, phones, pens, or anything you want to keep in easy reach.
The lining continues with more pockets! A large zippered pocket for important or discreet items, and a large divided slip pocket in mesh or vinyl, which is perfect for storing chargers or components neatly.
Secure your bag with a swivel hook and D ring combo, or bling it up and use side release buckles, either would work perfectly and you'll see my testers used both!
The approximate measurements of the finished bag are 16" W x 12" x 3" D.
I used Michelle of Barabooboo finished bags for the cover of the bag and in the shots above. If you haven't checked out Michelle's work, you are missing out! Her bags are always show stoppers and this one is no exception! She used waxed canvas and this stunning Tula Pink fabric on hers.

Mary of Nellie Blue's Place did another gorgeous Tula Pink combo, this time paired with leather! It's so sleek with the black and purple! Check out more of Mary's fab work on facebook and Instagram

Barbara of Made by the Bag Lady chose to use cotton and denim on hers, and this robot print is adorable!! She also added a handle to hers, which is a wonderful touch! She also added a small hidden pocket inside the laptop pocket for a super secret surprise pocket!

Natalie of Sew Hungry Hippie made this super luxe faux leather version and it's so super HOT!  If you don't know Natalie, you are missing out!! She is an amazing designer, a super inspiration and sells the most INCREDIBLE vinyl in her shop! It's so awesome to work with, and adds some posh to each bag! Check her out on facebook for some serious eye candy, or check out her website to get your hands on some awesome patterns and vinyls or just check out some of her awesome tutorials.

Abbe of Just an E knocked it out of the park by showing how awesome a large scale print looks on this bag! She opted to skip the long strap closure to showcase the print, instead sewing the strap closure piece into her flap. You can check out more of her awesome work on Instagram here.

Tara of Uh-Oh Creations knocked it out of the park with this incredibly classy leather version! It's so perfect for a professional, and shows how this is a perfect unisex pattern! Tara just released her latest pattern, and it's so fab!! You can check out her makes on Facebook or grab her patterns here

Converting a JPEG image of the Amaya Messenger Bag into a vector format involves a few key steps. First, the JPEG is imported into a vector graphics software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. The next step is using tools like "Image Trace" to automatically detect the bag's contours and details, creating scalable vector paths. After this, manual adjustments may be required to ensure sharpness and precision, especially around key features like logos, zippers, or stitching. This process allows for the creation of a high-resolution, scalable vector file, ideal for applications like custom embroidery, screen printing, or engraving.
